Darke County Transportation

Dick Lavy Trucking, Inc. located in Darke County

Attractive Location and Transportation
Darke County (pop. 54,180) is located just 5 miles north of I-70 and less than 15 minutes west of I-75, making it just minutes from the crossroads of America. The county is within a day's drive of most major Eastern and Midwestern cities, providing for fast deliveries and low freight costs. Darke County's ideal location allows companies to take advantage of proximity to the interstate without high land and building costs. This cost advantage has attracted a diverse base of industry from automotive to hospital equipment manufacturing. In addition, two U.S. Routes and a remarkable fourteen State Routes ensure easy transportation in and out of the county.

Convenient Air Travel
Business travelers will be happy to know that international air travel is just a short drive. The City of Greenville, located in the center of the county, is a short 26 miles from Dayton International Airport. Dayton offers more than 150 flights a day, with nonstop service to more than 50 major markets and connecting service to more than 100 domestic and foreign cities. The airport is also the hub of Emery Worldwide, making it one of the nations 10 busiest cargo and freight airports. The Darke County Airport, located on St Rt. 121 just southwest of Versailles, provides landing accommodations for corporate jets and other small aircraft.

Truck Transportation
Darke County is located in the nation's tenth largest "90-minute" land market. More than 5.6 million people live within a 90-minute radius of Darke County. Over half of the U.S. population lies within 600 miles of Darke County. Our location near two interstate highways means the region offers an excellent transportation infrastructure. In addition, over 15 Transportation companies are located in the county.

Rail Service
Rail service is available in several industrial parks through CSX and RJ Corman Railroad.
