GREENVILLE - The Greenville City Council presented the Darke County Partnering for Progress (P4P) Initiative with a $15,000 check at their recent meeting for use towards further economic development in the area.

According to Darke County Economic Development Director Marc Saluk, the City of Greenville is the largest, single investor in the initiative, outside of conveyance fees that come through the commissioners’ office.

Mayor Mike Bowers told the city council that income tax is trending in a very positive direction and the city is trending ahead of last year’s figures for each of the five months so far.

“The City of Grenville has been an outstanding partner since the inception of this initiative,” said Saluk. “It’s doubtful that countywide economic development efforts could have been as successful as they have been the past five years without their extensive involvement. And it’s equally doubtful that this countywide partnership would be on as firm of footing as it is now. For them to now also be the largest contributor is the icing on the cake of what’s been a very productive collaboration.”
