Greenville Moves Up the Ranks

DARKE COUNTY - The county’s economic development efforts has received national attention from Site Selection Magazine, a publication that determines rankings by the number of qualifying corporate projects communities have within a year.

In 2011, the county was ranked at No. 21 for the Greenville Micropolitan area which refers to all of Darke County, not just the City of Greenville. This year’s ranking moved the county into the top 20 at No. 17 in the nation.

“The fact that we are consistently ranked, and that our ranking keeps improving, is a testament to the quality of the companies we’re fortunate to have here in Darke County. It also speaks to the great relationship that the community has with these companies. Between the two, there’s a solid base for many more years of continued growth,” said Darke County Economic Development Director Marc Saluk.

The county’s ranking was higher than any other West Central Ohio Micropolitan and is the fifth consecutive year that it’s been ranked in the top 50. In comparison, the City of Dayton finished No. 2 in the midsize city category and Ohio finished No. 2 as a state....
