VERSAILLES — Midmark Corp. broke ground Friday for its 107,000-square-foot expansion project to be built at the company’s Versailles campus.

Midmark, a leading provider of medical, dental and veterinary equipment, technology and services, celebrated the milestone with an event that included company teammates, as well as local, regional and state government officials.

The expansion will include a technology center, experience center and a business center that reflect Midmark’s commitment to a better care experience. The new space is designed to foster an environment of elevated creativity, collaboration, communication and decision-making the company can harness to help customers improve clinical outcomes.

“Given the rapid changes occurring in the health care industry, it is an exciting time to be a part of Midmark as we take our place at the forefront of that change,” Midmark President and CEO John Baumann said. “With this expansion, we are creating the facilities and workspaces we need to carry us well into the future and continue to bring innovation and new ideas to healthcare and the state of Ohio.”

Baumann told those assembled the groundbreaking was more than just a milestone.

“The architecture and design of this building is being done to be progressive and timeless,” he said. “It’s going to stand with us as we build the future of this company.”

He added, “We stand here because of those who worked and lived here before any of us.”

Rep. Warren Davidson lauded Midmark’s management and workers, saying they’ve always found a way to thrive despite what happens with government policymakers.

“You’ve got great leadership, but you guys are the ones that make all that possible,” he said. “We’re so fortunate to have talented people here in our district, and I think that’s why investment is going to keep coming here.”

Supply Chain Vice President Karl Weidner, noting 2019 will mark Midmark’s 50th year in Versailles, said, “I’ve been with Midmark now for 38 years, but I can tell you, I’ve never been more optimistic about the future of our business than I am right here today.”....
